Facials
A facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin to promote clear, well-hydrated skin. A facial is the second most popular spa service after a massage but can be just as relaxing. Whether you like to be pampered or appreciate deep pore cleansing our highly trained staff can accommodate all your skin care needs.
FACIALS 101
A facial involves a few basic steps:
- cleansing
- skin analysis, where the esthetician places eye pads over your eyes and looks at your skin through a brightly lit magnifying lamp
- exfoliation, usually while a steam vapor is directed at your face.
- extraction of blackheads if you want it and it's suitable for your skin type.
- facial massage to relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles
- a mask targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature.)
- application of toners and protective creams
- advice on home skin care
Why get a facial?
If your face is too dry or oily, or you're constantly looking for ways to cover up unsightly facial blemishes, a facial may help.
Facials are designed to eliminate clogged pores, blackheads, and other impurities affecting the appearance and overall health of the skin. Facial treatments incorporate a variety of grooming steps that can include the use of creams, masks, peels, steam, exfoliation, extraction, lotions, and massage.
Facials were once thought to be a treatment only for women, but now men get facials, too. Facials are recommended once every four to six weeks in order to maintain the health and beauty of the skin.
